The Ipswich Turf Club is generously hosting a unique race day on 11 August 2017 to raise funds for the Newro Foundation!!!
The fundraiser is being organised by Ripley resident Sarah Harling, and the inspiration behind it is Craig Hannam, a close family friend who is currently battling brain cancer.
On May 28, 2012, Craig was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer – a grade 4 tumor known as GBM. The usual survival rate is 6-14 months but Craig has beaten the odds and has celebrated five years in May – a milestone only 5% of people diagnosed with GBM get to see.
Check out Craig’s facebook page for more information on his inspiational journey - All in the Mind. My Journey.
Brain cancer is a cancer that has not really progressed with treatments in the last ten years. It is also the leading cause of death for people under 40 and kills more children than any other cancer. Things have to change and awareness is the key.
This race day has been organised to boost Craig’s fundraising efforts and we are asking for your support for this great cause.
Get your friends together and come and along to a day at the races. Tickets are selling fast, click here to get involved.
