Shorne's Walk for Brain Cancer

Congratulations to Shorne Sanders who completed his epic 800 kilometre trek from Rockhampton to Brisbane on 19 August.

Walking in memory of his friend Garry Lawton and also his mother, Shorne began his walk on 1 August to raise money for brain cancer research and raise awareness for the disease.

5 kilometres from the finish line, a team of supporters walked with Shorne to cheer him on as he neared the end of his journey.

A welcome reception was held at the end with Managing Director of the Newro Foundation, Prof David Walker and Director Dr David Schlect thanking Shorne and the Orange Thumbs team for undertaking this amazing fundraising initiative.

Donations for Shorne’s Walk for Brain Cancer are still being accepted. Donations can be deposited to the Orange Thumbs account BSB 064403  Account 10704635.
